Sending this type of information using your standard email is never a good idea. The information travels across the public internet in a clear text form that is easy to intercept and read. As a service to our customers, Highpoint Community Bank is excited and proud to offer a free secure email portal through which you can contact us securely. Registration is quick and easy!
How does secure email work?
Messages traveling across the public internet between our corporate email server and the secure email portal are encrypted using strong encryption. Data traveling between the portal and your computer while you are logged in is also encrypted. If the messages were to be intercepted, they would be completely unreadable. If we send you a secure message, your regular inbox will contain a standard unencrypted message stating only that you’ve received a secure message from us with a link to the portal for you to log in and read it.
